UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) tell your website analytics where a visitor came from. Templates let you apply a consistent set in one click.

  1. Go to Settings → UTM templates → New template.
  2. Name it (for example "WhatsApp broadcast", names are unique in a workspace) and fill at least one field: utm_source=whatsapp, utm_medium=messaging, utm_campaign={{campaign}}.
  3. Save. When creating or editing a link, pick the template under UTM parameters; the fields fill in and stay editable. {{campaign}} becomes the link's campaign, {{slug}} its slug and {{domain}} its domain. Any other placeholder is rejected.
  4. Existing parameters in the destination are kept unless the template overrides them. URLCrop's own ucid parameter is always added last.
  5. Editing or deleting a template does not change links and campaigns that already used it.

Workspace Owners, Admins and Editors can manage templates; Viewers can read them. If your plan does not include link controls, the picker is locked with an upgrade prompt. You can also attach a template to a campaign.

Tips

  • Keep values lowercase and free of spaces; your analytics tool treats WhatsApp and whatsapp as different sources.
  • The UTM builder free tool at urlcrop.com/tools/utm-builder runs entirely in your browser and stores nothing; to turn the result into a tracked short link, sign in and paste it into New link.
