GoDaddy

  1. Sign in → My Products → Domains → DNS.
  2. Add new record → Type CNAME, Name go, Value cname.urlcrop.com, TTL 1 hour → Save. For a root domain choose Type A, Name @, Value the IP from the dashboard.
  3. If a conflicting A or CNAME record for the same name exists, delete it first. GoDaddy's default "Parked" A record at @ must be removed for root domains.

Cloudflare

  1. Select the domain → DNS → Records → Add record.
  2. CNAME, Name go, Target cname.urlcrop.com, Proxy status: DNS only (grey cloud) → Save. For a root domain: A, Name @, IPv4 address from the dashboard, DNS only.
  3. The grey cloud is essential. With the orange cloud (proxied) on, the certificate authority reaches Cloudflare instead of our servers, the certificate is not issued and visitors see errors.

Namecheap

  1. Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS.
  2. Add new record → CNAME Record, Host go, Value cname.urlcrop.com, TTL Automatic.
  3. For a root domain: A Record, Host @, Value the IP from the dashboard. Remove Namecheap's default parking or URL-redirect record for @.

Other providers (Hostinger, BigRock, Squarespace Domains, Route 53 and so on) use the same records; the screen names differ. DNS changes take from a minute to 48 hours to spread, typically under 15 minutes. After adding the record, return to URLCrop and click Check DNS.
