Before redirecting, URLCrop checks every destination. If a destination looks risky, visitors see an interstitial page: "URLCrop has not verified this destination" or "This link may be unsafe", with the destination shown and a Continue or Go back choice.

Common reasons:

  • The destination domain is new or unknown to us and the workspace is also new, or your account's email is not verified yet; we do not treat unknown destinations as safe until the first checks complete (usually minutes).
  • The destination is listed by Google Web Risk, URLhaus or PhishTank as phishing or malware.
  • The destination uses many redirect hops, a look-alike brand domain, or has been reported by visitors.
  • The destination website has been compromised since you created the link.

What to do as the link owner: open the link, read the Safety panel for the reason, fix the destination if needed, and click Request review (see Appeals). Warnings on new destinations usually clear by themselves within an hour.
