Connect your own domain

Custom domains are available from the Starter plan.

  1. POST /v1/domains { "hostname": "go.brand.in" } — the response lists the DNS records to create.
  2. At your DNS provider add CNAME go.brand.in → cname.urlcrop.com. For an apex domain (brand.in) add an A record to the IP shown in dns.expected_records instead.
  3. Using Cloudflare for DNS? Set the record to DNS only (grey cloud). A proxied (orange-cloud) record cannot be verified and returns 422 domain_proxied.
  4. We check DNS every few minutes (POST /v1/domains/{id}/verify to check now). Status moves pending_dns → verified → ssl_issuing → active; the certificate is issued automatically right after verification. error means something needs fixing — dns.last_error / ssl.last_error say what.
  5. Listen for domain.verified and domain.ssl_active webhooks, or poll GET /v1/domains/{id}/status.
